Endocrine Disorders
Hormones are the chemicals secreted by endocrine glands, such as the pituitary, thyroid, and adrenal glands. They play a major role in metabolism, regulation of physiological processes, and overall development of the body.
Sometimes these hormones are out of balance.
Endocrine disorders may be congenital (from birth) or acquired. Our endocrine specialists at Queensland Paediatric Endocrinology work with children with hormone issues (such as those listed below) throughout Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, the Darling Downs, Northern NSW and further afield.
