Known as the Insulin Pump Angel Deb is an endorsed nurse practitioner, credentialed diabetes educator and registered paediatric nurse with a large paediatric private pump clinic spanning Gold Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich and Toowoomba.
Deb Foskett has worked as a diabetes educator since 1988 and started her first private patient on an insulin pump in 1999.
She teaches smart pumping techniques to nurses and patients.
In 2014, the Australian Diabetes Educators Association bestowed their highest honour, the Jan Baldwin Award, on Deb for her services to diabetes education.
She won Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s inaugural Diabetes Educator of the Year Award in 2010.
Deb was a contributor in a research paper published in Paediatric Diabetes in 2016 on the improved long-term glycaemic control achieved in children initiating insulin pump therapy on diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes.
